FocalAI — Camera Coach ("FocalAI", "we", "us", or "our") is operated by Uthmann Investments. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the FocalAI app.
We collect information you provide directly to us, including gear profile data (camera body, lenses), shooting preferences, and session history that you create within the app. This data is stored locally on your device and, if you choose to create an account, synced to our secure servers via Supabase.
We also collect location data (with your permission) solely to calculate sun position, golden hour timing, and local weather conditions. We do not store or share your location history.
We collect usage data including app interactions and feature usage to improve the app experience. This data is anonymised and aggregated.
FocalAI offers an auto-renewable subscription (FocalAI Pro) priced at AUD $49.00 per year, with a 7-day free trial. Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. We do not store your payment information.
Your subscription automatically renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscription in your Apple ID Account Settings.
When you use the AI coaching feature, your questions and gear profile context are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate responses. We do not store your coaching conversations on our servers beyond the current session. Please refer to Anthropic's Privacy Policy for information on how they handle API data.
FocalAI requests access to your camera for the live light meter feature and to your photo library if you choose to upload photos for AI coaching analysis. We do not upload your photos to any server without your explicit action.
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information. All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted using TLS.
FocalAI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the date at the top of this policy.
